Oprah Makes Mistakes Too…

She had white supremacists on her show and realized during a commercial break, they were using her platform to recruit new members.

She vowed to never have a hate group on her show again.

Jerry Spring style, she had the “other woman” revealed LIVE on her show. She watched the wife’s face fall and a deep shame set in.

She vowed to never do a show like that again.

I imagine she had shame filled days and late night phone calls with Gail to process.

And she used these mistakes to learn and grow. And never lost confidence in herself as an interviewer and in her ability to make the world a better place.

Many of us socialized as women are taught to be confident, but not TOO confident. Don’t brag and don’t get too big for your britches.

Oprah said she used to feel bad when people said she was “full of herself”, but then she flipped it and started to think, yes, I am so full of myself that I overflow and have more to give to others. This is a good thing.

And that’s exactly why I’m running a FREE CLASS, How to Be Cocky, next Weds June 16th, 4 – 5 pm EST.
