If you were socialized as a woman, you were taught to believe your bad with earning money, negotiation, managing money and sales.
You were told by women’s magazines to scrimp and save and coupon (while research shows men’s magazines teach about negotiation and investing).
You were told to find your prince charming and the subtext of that is the prince is your financial strategy.
You were told don’t be bossy, don’t be bitchy, don’t be too much. When being direct and opinionated and extra are actually what works in marketing to magnetize the best clients.
And you were told you’re good at caretaking, nurturing, supporting which is why you actually like the coaching or therapy or healing part.
You were socialized to think you’re bad at marketing and sales. But that’s bullshit.
Marketing is teaching ppl lessons ahead of time, it’s creatively sharing who you are and what you stand for.
Sales is simply relationship building and then offering folks a solution to the problem they’re so desperately trying to solve like the pain of a divorce or their money mindset.
And you can do them in a non-creepy sleezy way.
If you’re attached to the outcome you become a creepy weirdo and I’ve done that… my apologies to anyone who’s been on the receiving end of my attached energy!!
But if you show up in service to help the client make the most clean aligned decision for themselves, selling becomes a service.
Like that woman at the boutique you like who tells you honestly when an outfit looks amazing but also tells you when it’s not working.
You’re better at marketing and sales than you think. Don’t let the mfing patriarchy tell you otherwise!
Love,
Bryn
