What Hugh Hefner Teaches You about Mental Health

He needed ALL THIS external success to feel good about himself.

When Girls Next Door, the reality show with three of his girlfriends, was killing the ratings and making a lot of money he had another source of external success and stopped demanding that they go to clubs and have “bedroom time.”

Holly Madison, who was Hugh Hefner’s girlfriend for 7 years (on his right in the photo), said that one of the reasons that led to her breaking up with him was that she never was able to earn his trust, he never let her in even after 7 years.

So I’m not saying you shouldn’t celebrate external success. Celebrate your marriage, your new job, the sale etc!!!!!

But you also need inner sources of success:

– enjoying a walk in your neighbourhood

– having your own back even if you make a mistake

– trusting and connecting with the ppl close to you

Because if external success is your ONLY source of success, you can end up like Hefner, 70 years old with seven 20 year old blonds that he needs to eff him twice a week in order to feel whole…
