Embrace Your Inner Bitch

Folks socialized as women are taught “don’t be a bitch” which translates to “don’t get angry.” And folks socialized as black women get a double whammy with the “don’t be another angry black woman” message…

This might not seem like a big deal but it can decrease:

The good news is that it is reversible if you embrace your inner bitch. Here’s how:

      1. Notice When you Feel Bitchy

Whenever you notice it: welcome this anger or frustration or bitchyness into your body. Where do you feel it physically?

Repeat to yourself, “This is what anger feels like. It’s safe to be angry.”

      2. Move that Bitch

Stomp your feet or squeeze your hands into fists. This will help you process and digest the anger.

      3. Ask “What’s the Truth in this Bitchyness?”

You were likely taught that your bitchyness was “irrational” and you’re too “emotional” but usually there’s a truth to it.

Anger is the energy that tells us when a boundary was crossed. Ask yourself, what boundary was crossed today? And how can I lovingly protect myself?

I can tell you, some of the biggest healing around my anger was sharing it in a group and having people actually feel closer to me when I expressed it physically. And that’s why I’ve created the Rage On Workshop that’s going to take place on Zoom, and is open to all folks who were socialized as women.

I don’t have a date yet… so join my newsletter to make sure you get the info.

Love,

Bryn
