Take a Break!

“If you get tired, learn to rest, not quit!” – Banksy

A few weeks ago I had a lot of childhood triggers come up and I felt like crawling into a hole and hiding forever.

So I went through my calendar and took out anything that was non-essential. Then crawled back into bed, emerging only for the things that were top priority.

I watched Netflix and napped and listened to podcasts and by the end of the day, felt way better.

I thought that if I let myself take time off, I’d “abuse it” and it’d be WEEKS and WEEKS of languishing. But it turned out that taking a few hours off on a Thursday really boosted my mood.

So if you need to take a break: TAKE A BREAK. Call in sick. Cut all non-essential tasks out of your calendar.

You live in a world that’s OBSESSED with productivity. But nothing in nature blooms for all the seasons. Some moments are for hibernation, others are for growth and others still are for the quiet descent of autumn.

Trust the natural cycles. Trust your intuitive impulse to rest. And then keep going.

Wishing you the best naps,

Bryn

P.S. I don’t actually know how to nap, but I do love lying in bed during the day!

P.S.S. My clients learn how to move towards their sacred goals by taking more BREAKS and RESTING. Using this strategy I’ve had clients start a business that they loved, reach a money goal faster than expected, and fall in love. If you want to achieve your goals using REST as a central strategy, book a free chat with me here.
