In many countries the laws have been changed that have historically kept marginalized folks with less money.
But the social norms have not changed which is why we have the wage gap.
The wage gap gets closed, one person at a time. So ask for the raise, ask for the sale, ask for the sale 1000 times.

PSSS Earnestness is actually one of my fav qualities in ppl btw. If you are earnest, I probably like being around you. And I prefer earnest over charismatic any day of the week. Of course, earnest and charismatic is fun too!
