Leak Proof Boundaries

I wish regular boundaries always worked but there are times when you set a boundary and it isn’t respected. That’s when it’s time to leak proof your boundaries.

You leak proof boundaries by setting a consequence.

For ex. “If you comment on how much food I’m eating this week, I’m not going to come to Sunday dinner next week.”

And then of course, if your mom comments, you have to follow through and skip the next family dinner.

As a child, you couldn’t leak proof your boundaries with your parents or caregivers because they were your only source of food, shelter, love and attention.

But as an adult, you have way more power than when you were a kid so it’s time to start protecting your energy.

And a reminder that:

“The only ppl who’ll be upset by your boundaries, are those who benefited from you having none.”
