Toxic Productivity is the New Smoking

Some studies today already show that 90% of disease is stress related. And stress is connected how were achievement and productivity obsessed.

But this culture still praises when you work overtime.

If you read my posts last week, you know I’m not immune to this shit.

I got super frustrated when I needed to rest and work through some trauma because I wasn’t being “productive enough”.

Doctors used to PRESCRIBE cigarettes to their patients in the 50s, and today it’s hard to stop being productivity obsessed because everyone pats you on the back for it.

Productivity addiction is celebrated.

But I wanna break the cycle, because it keeps me feeling drained and shitty and not creative but frantically striving.

And I want to invite you to quit smoking too!

Whoops.. I meant quit toxic productivity.

Take effing sick days. Lie and do nothing.

Watch Pixar movies all day if you need to (like I did last Wednesday!)

Be the canary in the coal mines about this addiction’s epidemic.

Be kinder to yourself.

You’re not a lazy bitch. You’re a revolutionary rester.
