Fuck Morning Routines

Anybody have an energizing morning routine? Yeah, me neither.

My spiritually aligned morning routine is:

Wake up groggy.
Stare at my phone.
Put on slippers.
Stare at phone on toilet.

Then check Spotify for new podcasts.
Put in Airpods with a fun podcast so I have company while I make coffee.
Drink coffee staring at phone and/or listening to fun podcast.

If I have a 9 am client, I then rush around getting dressed, brushing hair etc.

If I don’t, I try to drink enough coffee to motivate myself to start writing my next love letter or invitation.

And mostly… this morning routine works for me :).

My 2023 goal was having my own back, no matter what. And that means not beating myself up for not having a pinterest worthy morning routine.

Sometimes scrolling on TikTok makes me laugh and feel better.

And other times scrolling makes me feel like shit.

If it makes me feel like shit, I try to stop.

If it makes me feel better, I’m happy to do it.

Most folks socialized as women are told:

If you just had a perfect morning routine. And a perfect night time routine. And a perfect exercise schedule. And a perfect diet, you’d feel better.

But this is just the patriarchy’s tentacles infiltrating the wellness industry.

What you need is LESS PERFECT SHIT.

Here’s what to CROSS OFF your to do list:

      • perfect morning routine
      • perfect evening routine
      • perfect exercise
      • perfect diet
      • perfect boundaries
      • perfect holiday cards
      • perfect gifts
      • perfect hair and make up
      • prepare perfect dinner contribution
      • ANDD perfect outfit for the holiday party

And here’s what to add:

      • try to be 1% kinder to myself today

And btw… perfectionism is a trauma response. So letting that perfectionistic bullshit go, will actually HEAL YOUR TRAUMA.

This is a burn down the patriarchy and heal your trauma, all-in-one meal deal! DO IT NOWWW!
