my body softens
shoulders relaxing
breath expanding
safe.
After three days in the desert,
the smell of the lake hits me,
and I realize
how tense
I was.
Freedom
exists
at the side
of the lake.
my body softens
shoulders relaxing
breath expanding
safe.
After three days in the desert,
the smell of the lake hits me,
and I realize
how tense
I was.
Freedom
exists
at the side
of the lake.
I sit
looking out
at the lake
you’re there
I pause
hearts begin
to beat
in unison
spine lengthens
breath
rocks me
like the waves
rock
the small boat
rolling
rhythmic
I let go.
