breath
expands
my heart
making it possible
for me to step out of
self pity
and into
myself
breath
expands
my heart
making it possible
for me to step out of
self pity
and into
myself
I inhale
hold my breath
remember to breathe
let go
will we make it?
the plane takes off
my stomach drops
I am free.

breathe out
take three sips of tea
let yourself go
breathe out
peace
washes over your body
healing the little bits of pain
breathe out
take three sips of tea
let yourself go

breathe
feel your body
back against the chair
feet on the floor
breathe
anger
courses through my veins
sadness
overcomes my body
breathe.

I enter the prayer room
breathe out
remember
I am fine
light streaming in the window
I sit
breathe in and out
I look at the lake
and feel held
loved
protected
I pray
and I become
free.

I sit
looking out
at the lake
you’re there
I pause
hearts begin
to beat
in unison
spine lengthens
breath
rocks me
like the waves
rock
the small boat
rolling
rhythmic
I let go.

There is a stillness that underpins all the little daily miracles,
and underpins all art.
It underpins all love,
all beauty,
all relaxation.
All hope,
and kindness.
All understanding,
inspiration,
and peace.
It is hidden on the moon and deep within your heart.
And it can be hard to find,
But it is always there,
Right below the surface.
Waiting to be drawn out,
By the ear within the ear,
The eye beneath the eye.
Breathe,
and you can tap in.
Breathe,
feel the stillness,
draw it out.
