3 Signs You’re Burning Out

According to a study by the Family and Work Institute, 89% of US employees agree somewhat or strongly that they never seem to have enough time to get everything done on the job. When the amount of work you need to do at work compounds with all the work you need to do in your personal life, this can lead to burnout.

Burnout can increase your risk of:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Type II diabetes
  • Male infertility
  • And other impacts on your health

There are 3 signs that you’re burning out:

1. You have a big emotional reaction to the little things

Your daughter gives you lip and it sends you into a fit of rage. Your boss sends you an email with some constructive criticism and it sends you into a panic. The little things that you can usually let roll off your back result in a big emotional reaction. This is one indicator that you’re burning out.

2. You’re having trouble sleeping

You have trouble falling a sleep, wake up during the night or wake up very early is another sign that you could be burning out. This leads to you feeling more tired and frazzled than you normally do.

3. You Feel Like You’re Not Getting Enough Done

The final sign you’re burning out is that you feel you’re not getting enough done at work or at home. You might feel like you’re not as productive as your peers or you aren’t working hard enough.

The Good News?

You can overcome burnout. Overcoming burnout is about learning to:
