Sacred Goals

The past couple of months, I’ve gotten a little bit more serious about setting financial goals for my business. In the past, I’d basically set a goal for the whole year and then forget about it and not make my goal and then at the end of the year be like, “Oh darn it, I didn’t make my goal.”

But then I decided to build a business that’s sustainable and profitable. So I set some sacred financial goals for myself.

Fitting in…

A few years ago, I applied to have my mental health professional profile put up on Psychology Today. I filled out the form and put in my credit card. And they said no.

Because Core Energetics isn’t as well recognized as other mental health modalities, they wouldn’t recognize me as a student. But they said that when I graduated, if I also had a bachelor’s degree in psychology or something related, then perhaps I could be recognized.

Coming out of the Spiritual Closet

I’m a deeply spiritual person, but sometimes I pretend I’m not. I used to pretend when I was at networking events full of lawyers and judges for the non-profit organization I worked for. And recently I realized that I was pretending not to be spiritual on social media and with you, my newsletter community.

How to Set Boundaries with Family Members!

You might be finding you set boundaries with friends, and it’s absolutely no problem. But then you do the exact same thing with a family member and it doesn’t work!!

When this happens, you’ll need to do what I call “Leak-Proofing” your boundaries.

I was going to write about healthy boundaries today but I was so inspired by the events of this past weekend, I had to write about this. [Stay tuned, I’ll be sharing even more about healthy boundaries next week!]

Where were you when you heard that the election was over? (Seriously hit email me at bryn@brynbamber.com and tell me!! I want to hear your stories and I’ll probably cry all over again hearing what happened for you!)

And keep reading to hear where I was!

Time, Money and Energy

What do time, money, and energy have in common? They are all protected by healthy boundaries.

Here are some examples:

    • PROTECTING MONEY: If you buy a charging cable from Amazon and it doesn’t work, return it.
    • PROTECTING TIME: If a friend asks you to meet for lunch Friday and you have a super busy week already, postpone it to another week.
    • PROTECTING ENERGY: Take the time to find a movie both you and your partner or friend want to watch. Don’t be willing to watch a scary movie that’s going to keep you up or give you bad dreams.

So if you don’t have enough time, money or energy, it’s probably because there’s some area of your life where you could use healthier boundaries.

Building Boundaries

The holiday season is the Boundaries Olympics. There are events with family and friends and office parties and all sorts of situations where you get to say YES, NO or MAYBE.

And this season is going to be even more intense in some ways because we have the pandemic and everyone has different needs and values around that.

Over-Giving

A lot of my clients have been struggling with over-giving lately, so I wanted to share a little more about what it is and how to begin to heal it.

There’s generosity and then there’s over-giving. With generosity, you’ll feel excited, loving, or passionate.

With over-giving, you might feel good about helping out a friend but you’ll also feel drained, frazzled, or overwhelmed.

Self-Esteem

I used to believe you either had high self esteem or low self esteem. I think we filled out a quiz in high school to see whether our self esteem was “high” or “low.”

And OF COURSE, I wanted to have high self esteem.

So whenever I had negative self talk or critical thoughts, I thought OH NO! I have LOW SELF ESTEEM! This is bad!! I must stop the negative thinking!!
