feel your body

feet on the floor
breathe
anger

energy rushes into my body
as I see the tail emerge
slap
against the water
I hold my breath
And our rubber dingy
races through the water
out to sea.
Water sprays my face

I wake up tired
heavy
closed
tight
I don’t wanna get up
I don’t wanna leave my bed
I don’t wanna leave my house

There aren’t enough,
she says,
and what about the ones that are growing old?

I enter the prayer room
breathe out
remember
I am fine
light streaming in the window
I sit
breathe in and out
I look at the lake
and feel held
loved
protected
I pray
and I become
free.
